My Artwork

Unfinished untitled painting with a Greek tragedy feel. While painting, I realized it looks like a choose your own adventure illustration. This started out as a doodle on a piece of paper that I mounted to cardboard because I liked where it was going and needed a more solid working surface. Sadly, the cardboard got bent. Lesson learned.

Unfinished “Labyrinth of the Mind” graphic design project.

Ganesh. It might be pushing the envelope a bit with his anatomical accuracy, but I like the way it turned out nonetheless.

Gloria and Mike Vs. The Zombie Apocalypse. This zombie creation is for my friends Gloria and Mike. They are getting married on Halloween this year. The figurines are the 2009 GI Joe Rise of Cobra action figures. I had to tweak their appearance quite a bit with clay and paint. I decided to paint the foam to look like Tim Burton’s style. The bottom foam piece is inspired by The Corpse Bride, the Middle is inspired by Beetlejuice, and the top is Nightmare Before Christmas.

Alice Sculpture for Mom:

My Medusa Project is never-ending. This sculpture is coming along, but there is still so much to be done.

Heather and the Gator head I made for her (can you tell she likes the Florida Gators?)

Rawna and her foster dog Mossimo. He was very sick when he came to our rescue. After a couple months in Rawna’s care and multiple treatments for his weak little heart, he suffered a stroke and passed away. She refers to him as her little angel.

  1. For the cake, awesome job! But it’s not good to let too many people know you’re so creative, otherwise you constantly get asked to do *cough* “things” like this. Well done though! Very cool.

For the Grandma pic, nose fail! Yes, you have to have someone say/type it. Fail. The rest of the image is great. For the record, I “nose fail” in my art as well. I don’t feel like elaborating on that as the memory of my past nose-fail-criticisms hurts my feelings. *sniffle*

I really like the “grandpa” painting, as well as the “medusa” work.

Keep it up. Crap, I just realized that I’m really buzzed and should stop typing.

  2. Oh man, sorry about that comment. I had margaritas last night and then thought it would be a brilliant idea to go on the internet. Upon waking up this morning, I intended to do some damage control and delete any less-than-savy comments/messages I sent people, but alas, I soon realized I hadn’t paid my power bill as previously thought… I realized this because the damn power company switched me off! Gah. Power just came back on, but it’s too late for damage control. All I can do is apologize for insulting your pic; I just found it funny last night because, as mentioned, I have problems drawing noses myself. Wait… why do I feel like I’m just digging myself into a deeper hole here. In short, your writing is solid, humorous, and creative. I think you’re one of the better bloggers out there. Keep it up. 🙂

    1. No need to apologize. You are absolutely right. It is a total nose fail. I am new to painting/drawing (I prefer sculpting) and noses are very hard to pull off. If writing has taught me anything, it’s how to take criticism. No worries. It takes a lot to insult me.

I enjoy your blog as well and I love the layout with the categories listed on top. You’ve got a great sense of humor and should really try to submit your work to cracked.com. It seems right up your alley.
